Yelp BR is a project of Commercial Properties Realty Trust, a company with many who adore their dogs. Like Art Fesmire, a troubleshooter of properties who couldn't say no to providing care for a wayward dog until a permanent home could be found. One was; the dog is now part of Art's family. Like Art several CPRT employees have adopted or fostered a YELP rescue.

Upon realizing that so many Baton Rouge dogs needed a home, the staff of Commercial Properties launched Yelp BR to start adoption days in fall 2009. The adoption numbers soared in 2010 and are steadily climbing in 2011. Yelp has had over 1000 adoptions to date. YelpBR despartely needs volunteers to keep its footing and to  secure homes for hundreds of dogs.

With as much consideration, Commercial Properties develops and manages real estate for the Baton Rouge Area Foundation. That alliance lets the company change the world a little at a time. Together, the company and the Foundation take on projects that balance profit, people and planet. Projects like the Hilton Hotel, which continued downtown's rebound, and Bon Carre', which reinvented a left-behind mall into a nearly-full business center.

Yelp!BR is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that is committed to ending euthanasia of healthy and treatable companion animals in the Greater Baton Rouge Area by: 

1. Addressing pet overpopulation and animal suffering through education and appropriate action; and
2. To provide care to animals in need by enhancing adoption and foster rates.
